Is anyone successfully using an imac for recording at home. I know the G4 is the best way to go but it's a bit high on the price list now and I'm not sure if I really that much power. I'm wondering if the mic input is good enough on the imac. I have a Tascam 424 MKII that I need to run into the computer. Thanks!!

I've been doing the iMac recording thing successfully for over a year now... I have about 5 or six clients that are very satisfied with the sound quality of using the iMac... I actually just completed a whole album using nothing but the iMac, Logic Audio Gold, and the internal soundcard...

The sound was stupendous... I've been very impressed with the capabilities of the iMac... And I've got the 266 version with 96meg of RAM...

I was like you, too... I loved the G4s but needed something not so much more powerful... But, More MOBILE... I think if you're on a limited buget, the iMac will be an awesome tool for what you want to do...

I've also got a website that talks all about the iMac and digital recording...

If you're interested - point to: www.members.home.com/bkriverdog Just click on the iMac in the picture and enjoy...

Let me know what you think!
Take care,
