I'm trying to learn to sing classic 70s rock? It seems to be difficult to do - HARD!

Does anyone have any good pointers?

The song I'm singing is posted below @

http://soundcloud.com/rockinrobby/

or

http://www.reverbnation.com/rockinrobby

It's #2 from the top called "Feel your love tonight"

I'm doing the bass and all vocals, my partner is doing the drums and guitars. A song like this is such a stretch! It's easy to undershoot it... Which I don't want to do!

How can I sign this with more confidence?

Thanks.

I know it's not as good as what most of you do? But if I could get any pointers? Anything at all? Breathing? Vibrato? Singing from the diaphragm? Anything at all would help. I know someone must have something that can help me come out of my shell more?

Potentially insulting remarks? Why I'm SHOCKED! And hurt. I'm just trying to improve my art like everyone else here? Why would someone insult a fellow musician/singer who is struggling to improve? I'm just trying to build my confidence as a singer!! I still feel like I'm holding back a little? And I'm just looking for advice on how I can overcome my shyness as a singer and sing with more confidence.

Surely there are others out there with the same insecurities? I'm just trying to learn this stuff like you guys, and one day hopefully be as good as Chuck and many others. If I could only overcome my shyness as a singer? I'm trying...

p.s., I do have a new mix up today with modification to the vocal verb, using a stereo verb plate now on the vox, and gave my collaborator's guitar a bit more presence.

The song I originally posted this thread about is actually at #2 now, Feel your love tonight. However, the same applies for #1, To love somebody, which was just remixed and I think is finally dialed in.

I think you have talent for what you're doing.. keep up the good work
bless.

Sounds pretty good to me! I think the tone is really good for this style, and your pitch is great. My only real criticism was the rhythm was sometimes a little loose.

sounds pretty good to me and I never tell singers that unless I mean it.

As for the confidence thing ...... no one can tell you how to have more confidence .... that's an internal thing.
You have to be confident to sing confidently.

I will say that you need to accept compliments as being true ..... singers are almost always their own worst critics.
Plus around here there is a tendency to tell everyone they sound great even if they don't.

You don't know me but I never do that. If I tell you it sounds good it sounds good ..... I really don't give a crap about building up mediocre musician's confidence .... I feel it's more useful to hear the truth.
In your case you sound pretty good so keep on singing and get all the girls!

The best way to improve confidence is to practice your impersonation abilities.

wow .... he seemed reasonable in this thread ..... what did I miss?
