Just started thinking about it. It's a Focus 3000, so it's not the best guitar I've owned. But It's got a great neck on it and has potential. I like the black/white one better than the red frankenstrat that everyone and their brother does.

So should I give it a shot? Any hints? 'Cause I've never done anything like this before. So I might end up with a really fucked up looking paint job.

Piece of piss to a man of your caliber. :D

Masking off is gonna need lots a patience, are you gonna rub it down to the bare? I would.

Also your axe is gonna be outta commision for a while till the laquer hardens bud, depending on what you use, last one I did took about a month to harden and I had to adapt a stand so it was sitting on the strap buttons, I think that was acrylic laquer if I remember right, or was it cellulose?, shit can't remember, muttley will know the best stuff to use.

Didn't metalheed do one recently? I'm sure he can steer ya in the right direction.

That one was a Charvel actually.
I once bought a Strat that some kid did a tape job on...and the paint had a gloss with small reflctive particals.
When I bought it the tape had been removed...but the years of the paint curing exposed to the air and the paint being under the tape made it so when light hit it right you can see the stripes from a mile away...I wish I still had it...it was my first strat.
