I'm sold on CAKEWALK PRO AUDIO 9 !!!!

first of all I'd like to thank everyone at homerecording.com and all the people that read and respond to these threads. I finally got the hang of Cakewalk and I'm recording some really cool stuff. I burned some tunes on a cd and it sounds fantastic !!!!! So I'm making my new cd which I hope to complete soon (smooth jazz type stuff) I will probably try to sell it on the net. Anyhow I'm excited, I've gone from tape to cakewalk and I'm very happy.
The people at Cakewalk need a metal for their work !!!!!!
 
now that I have Cakewalk down I'll start working on my spelling. Thanks !
 
The midi sequencing, mp3 ripping and wavform editing (with plugins) are great......however, once you try Sonic Foundry Vegas Audio you will be in heaven.
 
Ok does sonic foundry work in conjunction with cakewalk or is that another platform ?
 
They are 2 separate platforms. Don't get me wrong...I love Pro 9. Vegas is perfect for straight forward digital audio tracks. If i'm doing a project that contains midi and audio I will do all of my midi stuff first, then convert the midi files to wav files ---> I record the midi tracks to my vs-880 via the line out into the vs880's inputs ( as a stereo pair ).....I'll then send the midi tracks back to the computer and record it as a wav file and import it into Vegas. Once completed I will do all of my audio tracks in vegas.
 
Gargamel - that seems like a lot of bother when Cake will handle it all efficiently. :eek:

Cant you just select record midi on your soundcards mixer control and then setup a wav track to record in cakewalk to convert to wav???

Well thats how i do it anyway and you can record it as a stereo track too if need be.
 
I do it this way because there are a lot of times I need to go back and remix or change some of the midi tracks. 2+1=3.....1+2=3....Different strokes for different folks.
 
been there , done that

tried vegas (been there)
tried cakewalk (done that)

have them both, use them both but i,ll stick with cake anytime.

I use them both (Vegas Audio 2.0 and Cakewalk 9).

It depends on what I am trying to do or create. :)

But....I seem to use Cakewalk 9 more often that I use Vegas Audio 2.0.
