what are the differences between balanced and unbalanced inputs... and, do you have to, or are you suppost to use a pre-amp with a microphone running on phantom power??

Phantom power comes *with* a mic preamp.

Phantom power comes *with* a mic preamp.

Not so.... you can buy outboard phantom power supplies....

But it IS safe to say that any mic requiring phantom power will NEED a mic pre!
