ok i want to know if i can hook a tacsam Tm-d1000 digital mixer up to my roland vs-840 digital multitrack i need to do this because i need to record drums and lives bands, and i need the extra inputs. if anyone knows how to do this or has any sugestions they would be greatly apreciated.

ive read on the lexicon website form its core 2 sound card that the light pipe digital i/o onthat unit hooked to the dig i/o of the tm-d1000 was the way to go
i cant tell you from experince though because i have only considered the scenerio and only researched it

im not familiar with the hard disc recorder that you mentioned so good luck next tine you start a thread list the equipment you want to interface on the title because i was curios of the question may not mean i could advise you on this

There are 2 ways to go if you need extra inputs...

If you're VS has digital inputs, (I think it's possible with my VS1880. But never tried it.), and the tm-d1000 has digital out, you can use the tm-d1000 as an external AD, thus adding 'real' inputs.

Or you can make a submix using your digital mixer. This way you're not adding 'extra inputs', but is allows to record multiple sources on one track. (or on one stereo track.)

Or a combination of both, offcourse... Hope this helps.
