Hi guys.

I'm new to the whole world of recording with Cubase. Previously I was using a Tascam for live recording but I saw what you could do with Cubase and really want to master the MIDI side of things.

I've hooked Cubase5 up with my Korg Pa800 with MIDI using a MIDImate from the keyboard into my PC.

I recorded a piano track setting the input on the track to be my MIDI Mate and the output on the track as my sound card. This recorded the piano fine.

Now I want to record a string track.

I selected the same setup on the next track but changed my sound on my keyboard to strings. While it seemed to record with the string sound, when you play it back it reverts to piano?

Can anyone help me keep it as a string sound?

The other thing I was thinking was using the sounds in HalionOne, (as the video demos that come with the software say) but when you select a string sound using HalionOne you don't hear anything... I've check that the volume is turned up but I get nothing!

Please help me!!!
Cheers

you changed the sound on the keyboard not in the prog... look on the left side of the screen where all the sound and routing info are...

On the left, you've got all the track controls. The top one with all the volume stuff in. There;s an option called "No track preset" if you click on that it brings up a box where you should be able to select different sounds but they're all faded so you can't select them. Do I need to install something else?

I'm not sure if my HalionOne is working properly. Think that could be a problem. Do you know where I can download a new copy?
