I posted earlier about my not so thrilling D12. I got some other d12's to compare and they are wildly different. The other D12's sound like the same mic generally speaking but the one I have is nasal and middy.
Furthermore the other d12's read about 50 ohms and the one I have reads 200 ohms.
Aside from the sonic differences the guts are somewhat different too. The one I was suspicious of in the first place has celophane sticking out from around the place where the resonator(?) is mounted on the capsule. Also the wind screen is felt on the not so good one and fine screen on the good one.
A very interesting set of differences if you ask me.
