I'm feeling really stupid. I can't record

Hello:

Just finished spending $230 (UB802, 20' Blue Cable, E835, Y cable) and when I record I get the same results as I did with a Cheap Microphone.

Oh! Yeah, I know I have to plug it into the Line in of my soundcard, and not the mic.

I have three lines in and one 1/8" plug which one do I plug it into?
I have a blue line in which has a little figure which looks oposite of the line out.
Wait let me get my camera, and I'll take a picture.
 
Oh! By the way, it was the user and not the equipment.

Please laugh at this 'cause you have to. I had everything right (Oh! I did take a picture, yelled at my cat and got overall frustrated too, but I'm not posting it) except turn up the volume in the Main MIX where the out to the sound card is pluged into. :o

Anyway, it is 100%, no I take that back 500% times better than the other way, and it will sound kinda dry I guess or I'll have to play with the EQ.

For now my own voice. In the future if I feel brave enough it will be a spanish acoustic guitar. If I had the patience I would be playing spanish guitar right now!

Thanks to everyone who gave me advice as to everything from what to look at what where to hook it up. We almost lost a cat in the proces of me getting the stuff working.

If you own a cat, you know that they bug you at the least appropriate time like when you are really frustated 'cause you promised your wife that it would be much better than recording it to a hand held tape recorder and then it looking like it's not. Oh! And you are out $99 'cause you can't return the mic. :eek:

Yeah, after kicking the cat, yelling at myself, running around the house looking for batteries for the camera, and turning my computer off 'cause I knocked the power cable off accidentally I notice the Main Mix control :o

Anyway, thanks to everyone here for the advice and putting up with my silliness (is that even a word?).

I'd recokoned I'd just 'bout destoyd de English Langage wit that dang there word 'silliness' tha I'd used. :)

I spelled it right only by the grace of my computer I guess.
