I'm embarrassed to ask this but.......

Yeah, I got the Session Customs... Great drums.... They are my studio kit (recording kit)... I love them...

My FAVORITE drum (sound-wise) is Drum Workshop.... I can't afford them, so, the main reason I chose the Session Customs is that they sound very similar to DW's, but for 1/3 of the price.

Amazing Kit.

Is DW really THAT expensive? I haven't even looked at them that much. I'm not a big fan of the drum hardware (lugs etc.). I know the DW's are good drums, but the Pearls (at least the ones I've played) offered a "sound" that I liked. Kind of like a high quality transparent compressor vs. a high quality compressor that colors the sound. The Pearls had a warmth that actually inspired me. The DW's just don't do that for me.

Yes, and overpriced in my opinion. Quality is quality if you know what I mean. The Pearl Session customs completely exemplify price/performance for me. I will go on record as saying that my Pearl session kit blows my old DW kit (one with reinforcing rings which was a big part of the problem) out of the water.

(Yes I know I tarnish my reputation by repeatedly making these claims which are representative of my own experience.)
