Are you guys install your audio WinXp in "ASPI" or "Standard PC"??
Kryogh said:I've been thru all this about lets say about 2 years ago with a Delta 1010. I had sooooo many problems with this card at this time.
So, in fact, I'm just asking to see is there is still problems with the Deltas about this.
May sound weird, or useless, or..? But at this time, I had to stick to DirectX 7, and I had a Gigabytes mobo, witch was using VIA chipsets at this time. Dude, I tried for about 6 months, almost all day long, to make my 1010 work well and I finally sold it. Was like hell...
Now, I L O V E my Nuendo soundcard
And I dont need anymore to be in Standard PC, everything is flawless![]()

I fail to understand the point of your post. You seem to be bashing the Delta 1010 when you have no reason to do so. It is common knowledge older VIA chipsets didn't play well with most soundcards. What does any of this have to do with using ACPI or not?
Sounds like you should have sold your system rather than the 1010...
Kryogh said:OK,
1- sounds like you dont know that it's alway possible that you dont understand what I try to say, simply besause I dont speak english very well. I'm learning a lot here!
2- Nuendo soundcards? here my friend. www.steinberg.net take look, it worth it. You know RME? then you'll see whats going on.
The one I own is Nuendo Audiolink 96 Multiset. Yes, RME is making these cards. It's even still wrote RME on it.
3-I'm not bashing the Delta's soundcard at all. I'm not bashing Midiman. I also just buy a Midiman MobilePRE, to be able to record my ideas/work with my laptop when I'm not home.
4-Did you never notice that, 2-3 years ago, Midiman Delta users were drivers beta testers? A damn new driver was out about each 2 weeks...If you didnt, I can send you a forum link (if I can find it:|)where you'll certainely notice that many..I mean M-A-N-Y 1010 owners were pissed off about this.
5-Standard PC, instaed of ACPI will not put 874 units on the same IRQ. Good idea to get your soundcard alone on its own, dont you think? ...less important than it was with recent soundcards.
Is this one more clear? If you dont understand something in this post, just tell me, I can try it again!
Just because 2 devices use the same IRQ, doesn't mean you will run into conflicts

Kryogh said:Also less important with XP. Midiman seems to work better on their drivers now.
I went thru this. I dont really care if you didnt. In fact I'm glad for you!
I can assure you (I dont have care if you dont beleive me or not) that, as long as my Delta 1010 wasnt installed on a Standard PC OS, didnt have its own IRQ, I couldn't use it. Of course, it was due to the damn VIA chipset. But, once on its own IRQ, it worked.
(and the OS sticked to DirectX 7...this point, I still dunno why!)
if you have time too loose, try to find some 2 years old threads on this forum (yep! I found it!)

You may see I'm not the only guy who had that kind of problems.
Ok, i still think that maybe I'm completely , totally 100% WRONG about all this. But a that time, I found a way to use my Delta.
Oh, BTW, have you ever own a 1010? When? On what kind of PC?
Kryogh said:I understand now... you used the same drivers as the 1010, without a 1010. Means nothing to me dude, sorry.
Sometimes, I use different phones on the same phoneline and it works fine! Not the same thing about drivers/soundcards/computers/etc, you know it. Sorry again.
Ok well, I dont want to bother you anymore with this, so if you want this can be over. If you want to talk about something else, suggest! I'll be glad!![]()

You're a moron and don't seem to understand much about computer architecture.
Aah, good old Bzilian. Always good for a friendly word of advice.brzilian said:![]()

I say try ACPI first, and change to Standard PC only if you're having problems.
