I need some samples of nature sounds like animals, birds, insects, wind, rainforests, water, misterqcue's wheezing after eating a gelatin-coated horse jerky, etc.
Any free software or downloadable crap would suit me just fine if you were to know the whereabouts.

Thanks.

Here's what ta do

Wait until spring (I'm in upstate N.Y.,So I have yet to see any sign of it comin' this year) But, get a DAT recorder and go recordin' in the woods. I don't know if you'll find any horse jerky there. But you'll find alot of cool sounds.

In that case go to walmart

I have this cd I got at walmart. I got it before I got the mac I wanted. A buddy of mine let me use his windows computer just so I could screw a around a little, A real little. So I was walkin though Walmart one day, And saw this CD for $9.99 It's all WAV files. There everything from Animals to cartoon sounds. It's called "Galaxy of Home Office Help" Wav Sound Effects. There is alot of cool sounds on there. If there not not to big maybe I can Email ya some.

Ok I found the well of samples, great! Some really cool bird samples I found! But, I still have a problem.

Forget about Kamchatka.

How do you save the sample to disk? I'm sure there's a simple answer, but I'm lost here. When I click on the sample it opens in WMP, and from thre I can only save it to a playlist. When I search my harddrive for the sample, it can't be found. Sure, I can play the sample in Media Player, but I need it in Cool Edit.

I think if I set up Musicmatch Jukebox as my default .wav player it would do about the same thing.

So what gives?

Thanks for the info.

Have you tried to right click of your mouse on the sample?
You should then get a pop up of "save as".

It seems to me that most of the samples there are in wav format.

Hey rats....

When you click on the link does MediaPlayer open and download it then play it?

If so, just let it download, then in MediaPlayer, go to File and do a Save As. I am sure that will work.

You could also configure MediaPlayer to not be associated with .wav files, so when you click on one on the internet it will just pop up a dialog box that will allow you to Save To Disk.
