not exactly my style, but it was recorded very decently......

production issues :

the constant beat throughtout with no breakup...the same rhythm all the way through...too monotonous.......

I think you used the words "the Lord is" WAAAAY too much.....dont get me wrong....i dont mind hearing about the Lord, but that was a tad overboard.......

very good job overall.....

hey man....im just here for a minute but i wanted to say good to see ya around again!!!....we had a baby a week ago so my computer time is close to nill.......anyway...glad to have you back man!

Thats fantastic Jamal!!! Congratulations and my God bless your new arrival!!! I am hoping to become a father myself this coming year. Thanks for letting me know the good news!!:D

Good catchy tune. I liked the little organ part. The guitar fills were nice too, but maybe got a little repetitive.

I agree that there are a few too many "The Lord's". Maybe replacingsome of them with "He's" would break it up.

The only recording thing I have is with the vocals. Something's not quite right. They seem somewhat "low fi" for some reason. Near the end they almost seem to overdrive things and slightly distort.

i dig the tone on the lead guitar solo.

couple of clams in the vocal and the git solo but nothing outrageous. just go back and fixemup. vocal is clipping a lot though. either that or it's just too overdriven for my taste.

didn't like the snare drum. it was real loud, but most people like drums louder than i do i think. a little repetitive in some areas 'lord is', beat, acoustic guitar fills, etc.

Nice to hear your stuff again King!

A catchy tune!
I would like to hear some of the organ replaced with an upbeat piano to break it up and add to the tempo. The lead git is sweet!
Vox do sound a bit hot or some kind of lofi effect. Maybe a double clean and/or something to smooth it out would add something.
Recording is clean and comes through nicely!

Stick around

Welcome back my friend. If you and the original king did a duet together would you be refered to as Elvii? I hear a bit of distortion in the vocal too. The drum machine is just a bit monotonous. Maybe get a couple of different variations of the main pattern and use them on different parts of the tune. Not my cup of meat but you did a good job on it.

Thanks for all of the comments amigos. I really appreciate them all. I was recording the vox in the closet for isolation and so I was not watching my pre and it was running hot. I had a better vocal take but I lost it somehow and was too lazy so I used an inferior take. As far as the drums go, I just set up the Zoom and let it run so they are repetitive. I am working on a dorky original right now that will be up and running soon. Just got my new POD XT so I gotta give it a workout!!!

For some reason that strikes me as being rediculously funny, and my resulting laughter has betrayed the fact that I'm not actually working.

lol

[gets struck by lightning]

The production is good, maybe a tad too bright all around though, hurt my ears listening to it at above average volume.

Isnt rock and roll supposed to hurt your ears???
he he, just kidding. I mixed it on my cheapy computer speakers set flat.
Thanks for giving me a listen!!
