I'm about to build a new PC

First build, but i've done numerous upgrades before so i shouldn't have much trouble. What's everyone's opinion on specs?

3.2Ghz dual core

4Gb 800mhz ram

500Gb SATA hard drive (internal)

450 watt power supply

PCI firewire card

standard internal sound card that i won't be using is a standard 8 channel surround card

Onboard GeForce 7150, not that it matters for recording all that much at all.

Id invest in an external HDD so you can back up your audio files in case your comp crashes.

already got one =] I was actually thinking about using a 250Gb internal, and buying an enclosure for the 500, but i haven't the cash at the moment.

for one, will that power supply be fine for now or should i up it a bit?

that should keep you rolling for a good bit. If your looking for a killer silent 450w PS get the Corsair PS. I have the 450w and it's about as silent as your gonna get.

Yes, although I haven't actually been able to get out and hunt for the last 6 years or so.

oooh that sucks. i've always wanted to but never got the chance. i am a hell of a shot though. i used to go to a friend's house in BFE and go shoot 30-06, .45 ACP and .17 HMR all the time. fun times to be had.

how expensive does the dual core processor + mobo run anyway? I'm still on an old ass ahtlon 64 3000+
