Hi, what's up!
It's the first time I'm writing on a forum.
Excuse me for my bad english, I'm from Switzerland.

I wrote some lyrics and now I would like to clearly record them on my laptop (I just bought a new one : Hp/compaq nx7010)

So, I'm about buying this :

http://cgi.ebay.com/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewItem&item=7332702668&rd=1&sspagename=STRK:MEWA:IT&rd=1

What do you think, is it enougt good for beginning? I would like something cheap but with certain sound quality.

Thanks

PS: do someone have a better idea?

hey

Yeah it's fine.

Shop around though. After shipping and handling, the e-bay soundcard may be a bit more than you should spend.

The m-audio stuff is perfect for laptop recording on a budget.

Yes, that will work. However, I would at least get an interface that supplies phantom power, so you could potentially use condenser microphones with it. The M-Audio Fast Track Pro would be a better option. Also look into the Tascam US-122 or some of the FireWire interfaces (if your laptop has a firewire port).

what do you think od that mic?

it looks like I don't need m-audio product for recording

In theory, it seems like a nice idea. However, with that mic, you'll always be tied to USB technology (i.e. - you can never use it with a standard XLR cable and preamp). Secondly, Samson does not have a very good reputation.

What is your budget and what all are you planning to record?

hmmm

I'm not a musician. i just want to record my voice.

Actually, I want to make some rap demo cd-s!!!
I've found good instrumentals but as I record with a standard mic, the quality is poor. I'm looking for something that will be used only on my laptop and provide me good sound quality for my recordings.

I searched for days and finally found this usb mic. I looks enought good for what I need... I'm just worried about it's sound quality.

I hope it's at leaste better than a standard pc mic??

My budged is not so limited, but I'm looking for something as cheaper as possible at leaste at beggining.

So what do you think?
