That is the only one?

You have a, wait a minute, the C-audio PCI is just software? I thought you had a separate soundcard. Hmm. DirectX is going to make your world suck hard...

I have not much experience without using external soundcards, but I hear ASIO4All is a fairly good option for some. It is a free download. Other than that, I have no other advice, other than purchasing a USB interface (replaces your internal piece of crap). Lexicon Alpha is probably the cheapest ($60).

Where are you Crow?

It would be optimal to get an interface.

But what you have should work.

Are you sure you have the right track in Cubase? Did you do the process Jimmy said?

Project>Add Track>Audio>select Mono>Add Track?

The c-audio pci is just software? I thought it was hardware card.

is it important to have external soundcard i know ppl recording without it , what if i use asio4all v2

Try ASIO4ALL. v2

It's very stable. Much better imo.

Also try the create new track that we have been talking about. Input track isn't right.

Yeah, I thought that too by the name, but upon Google results, it seems to just be an audio driver. And evidently, not such a friendly one.
