Solar Power!!
Yup - at the end of this month (april) Margaret is returning from Italy and we've decided to purchase a 4WD van (RV?) and go and spend the impending winter in the Northern Territory and the Kimberly region etc. Winter is the time to do this as it's hell in the wet season.

I've always wanted to go there and Margaret has dreamed of it since being a small child in Poland. So it's on. Off to find a Van tomorrow.

NOW! I'm looking for someone who knows web pages etc to take over the role of webmaster on the Studios Under Construction site. i.e. receive the pics via e-mail and create a new page for each new addition. I will be able to stay in touch through internet cafes occasionally but I won't be able to upload etc.

Any takers?.......:D

The site. I'm a afraid to visit Oz because of the icky spiders and I don't drive on the left side of the road so that's totaly out.

I have no idea when I'll return....I've always wanted to see the top end as we call it. By that I mean up the coast to Cairns and hopefully further north, then across to Darwin and Kakadu National Park, then down to the Kimberly and maybe further south or back up to Katherine and down to Alice Springs and the Rock. Who knows, Margaret and I are good campers. I've been out all day looking at 4WD Vans. I'll stay in touch through the Cafes etc.

I would be really happy if you did the site Ola as you have known it from the start and know the idea behind it. It's prety simple cos it's got a basic template.

I suppose I'm a bit netted out at the moment. I've been online with my sites and HR and others since last year, the studio construction and setup has been draining (as sjoko will agree) and I need a break.

On a more personal level I'm glad Margaret is coming home as we both believe the world's going to get dangerous very soon and what better place to be than in the middle of the OZ desert when it happens. :)

Seriously,have a safe trip and hurry up back! We will be now known forever as the "BAN BROTHERS!" :)

Have a good trip, John! Can't say I blame you for wanting to get away from the internet community for a little while...
Nothing a little relaxing vacation can't cure, though. Keep in touch if you can ... but more importantly, enjoy yourself! :)


BTW, Ola, if you ever need any help or backup maintaining the site while John's away, I humbly offer my services. If it ever happens that you're too busy ... just shoot me an email. I'm sure you got it all under control ... but at least know that you've got support, if needed.

So, It seems like we have it all sorted. I'll manage the updates while you're back, BigK is the second line of fire and Misterqcue has given his kind approval:) Just mail me some details and you can leave that behind on your trip. Just don't stay too long, I'll be needing some help with my studio plans in a couple of months, or years...

Today I bought a Mitsubishi Delica 4WD van - has a 2.5litre turbo Desiel engine with aircon, power steering, stereo front and back...coool . They are imported from Japan, it has 75,000Ks on it.

I've given my old Honda to the guy that fixed the roof when it feel apart with rust and he loves it as much as I do so it's in good hands and I'll still see it around. He also knows how to deck the 4WD out with dual batteries, gas etc.

I'll still be around till the end of the month so I'm not pissin' off yet :)

Well it's turned out that Brian can handle the site which is how it should be. I thought he was totally tied up with his study but he says he can handle it and make time to do it. So it will keep going as is except send your pics to Brian.

Thanks Ola and BigK, if it gets tooo much for Brian I'm sure he will contact you to give a hand.

No I'm not going for good Q, just for a good break. I've been locked behind this monitor for two years now since I started writing the manual and the wide open spaces looks pretty cool now.

How on earth did I miss this thread?? I just saw it now, I was wondering how everyone knew John was taking a break! :)

Yeah, I can take over the site. I'll try keeping up with the updates. I may not be as fast as John because I really do have a lot of homework and not much time, but I'll get the job done. John and I started the site and I really want to try keeping it me and him :) call it a pride thing.

John still has to e-mail me to tell me how to do everything... :)

I just realized, I've had 4 vacations of more than 5 days in the last 15 or so years. And when the studio is ready, I've got 4 major projects to do asap. After that, I NEED to take a break, but with my luck it seems that Uru's career will be exploding by then.
No peace for the wicket!!
Its beautiful up there, I spend a couple of days roaming around there in the early '70's. Also did a road trip from Melbourne to Perth at the same time, that was an experience! Beautiful country.
Anyway, you'll have a great time, and we'll miss you
