VomitHatSteve

Hat STYLE. Not contents.
Based on Dan Simmons' Ilium and Olympos (Which I don't actually recommend reading.)

MP3 | Flac

I had some help tuning the drums, and I mic'd the snare differently from last time, so hopefully it's better.

As always, critiques are welcome.

Quantum physics is complicated,
and Senior English is hard.
Put 'em together; you'll guarantee
almost nobody gets the point.

Then throw in the Trojan War
fought on Mars in the future.
While mining robots from Jupiter
police the galaxy.

Ilium, Ilium, I left my heart on Ilium.
And my teleportation helmet is in Ilium.
We can never go forward in time back to Ilium.

Meanwhile back on Earth prime,
no one knows how to read.
Except Odysseus who's warning them
of a monster from space.

Every time that they go back
to the bacta tanks in the sky,
There's a chance they'll be eaten by
Setebos or some such guy.

repeat chorus.

And the little, green men are building Easter island on Mars.
To summon some great creature from mythology.
Honestly, I don't know why they would do that.
None of it makes sense. None of it makes sense

Never read this one either.

Drums sound a little better than usual. Are the drums double-tracked? There's occasions where it sounds like there's two kicks slightly out of time with eachother. If so, wtf did you do that for? Lol. The rest sounds like your usual offerings. The vocals are still thin and radio-like, but understandable. Not bad overall. You're getting better.

Thanks.

Yeah, I've overlaid sampled drums on top of the analog ones. It is most prominent on the kicks. I manually lined up the most obviously out-of-time kicks, but they're still a little off often.

Thats some silly wacky stuff dude - I like it - I bet kids would love it

you should add a chipmunk chorus behind illum chorus :p

Thanks, Arcade!

I'm always wary of the chipmunk thing since I'm afraid I'll overuse it. It's been awhile though. I suppose I'm due to use it again! :D

Very cool song, Steve.
Only thing I can't get used to is those drums, but if that's what you were going for....
Voice sounds very good, your usual freaky style.

Love this. Pretty slick mix, and I love your lyrics. Nice work.

Thanks Joey and Supercreep.

I can't promise that this is really the drum tone that I'm going for, but it is how my drums tend to sound!
