ok here is what i'ma gonna do. why not just select some films and analyze with no sound. then do music. solicit this music to appropriate people. say i'll do the first free of charge for reference. anyone contriving exaggerated obstacles to this should be avoided (hahaha).

man though, perhaps this results in very groovy connections. perhaps... perhaps a bit of

i have to say this fellow seems a bit ... boring - just to mention

let me know. i'm thinking a hybrid combo of 70sish italian exploitation cinema sound, dark wicca, trashy punk funk (aka: curtis mayfield meets james brown thru misfits equip), and enlightened psychodelia. for interested female vocalists (native german speaking preferred) familiarity with the work of the bensonhoist lesbian choir a plus.

I have been in the AFM ( musicians union) for twenty years, and I have been a member of the Actors Union here and there when I do TV stuff. Sometimes, not often, a union big-wig comes to the gig and demands to see your union Card, to make sure you are up to date with Union Dues.

Where do Porno stars hide their union Card? I can just see some union honcho saying, " Brad, before you do the blowjob scene again, we need to see your union card."

Seriously... is there music to be heard in porn? I never pay attention. If I happen to have something that a producer would want... why not... if I'm getting paid for the stupid puns I would have to put up with from the people who know me.
 
I'm thinking more on the David Lynch production quality level. Lost Highway nails it at times. The problem is this stage mentality where there is order and a little ditty. Some of us are out to change this and will probably fail.

However, I may end up scoring the soundtrack for a friend's video game, which would also rock to the extreme.
 
Good lord! Have you EVER seen a porn flick that had well timed or even remotely cinematic music?! (Of course, who pays attention to the music...) Wouldn't having a good porn soundtrack under your belt be a little like doing a tune just for Muzak- only worse?

I get the feeling that you can compose music for such a film, but it won't be the same experience as composing music for a movie that has...um...a plot, I think its called...worth supporting with mood and timed soundtrack subtleties.

He hee hee. I suppose you could have the "actors" perform to a click track.
