Deceptive intro.
The vocals need a little more edge at the change 0.58 & "Give you the kiss" either EQ, vol or MENACE.
At the change at 1.40 they sound like RAMI.
I think the snare needs an emphasis on 1 beat per bar - the drummer also seems a tad polite on the snarre at the outro. Oh, jsut a little more definition on the bass PLEASZE. Nice that the guitars sound like guitars too.
I think this is really good. The band need to bite harder though - more RATM.
Serious about the RAMI bits though - even some of the melody sounds similar - have you been exposing them?
YOUR work is quite good Lee, everything is clear & well captured. The tweaks I suggested are just a matter of taste really

hey, real cool, man. Good feedback :)

But no, not at all. I've only heard only some of RAMI's stuff a few months ago, but it wasn't enough to soke it in.

What I actually had in my head while working this out with everyone was listening to that song by the toadies on the radio. You know, the one that has that bridge saying something like, "be my angel...be my angel...something something...give it up to me...". It's an older tune, but I dig it. Some of the progressions where partially inspired from that.

So then that gave me the idea to have them do something semi-Lo Fi/vintage/Garage band feel. Almost Modest Mouse like, but not quite. Something dry, perhaps almost sterile, but grooves enough to listen to a few times.

Strange coinsidence on the RAMI thing, though. I'll have to listen again, never occured to me.

Thanks for the kind words again :D

:)

I put up a slightly altered version this time. Maybe for the better? :D

Groovy and interesting tune, I dig it.
A lot going on and everything sounds pretty solid.
Gives me some chilli peppers vibes too... maybe it's the funky bass line, cool sound there.
Around 1:54 the vox are harder to understand there, maybe raise those a tad.
At times I think a more powerful harder guitar would sound cool in this song... the guitar tone is cool, but has a laid back quailty that I think could rock out more in parts. ANyway, the tune is cool, I dig it much

great sounding tune...i like the style! i figure since peeps are givin a "sounds like" thing i'll add my 2cents........David Byrne....at least thats how i think you spell his name.

good song!

BTW..i hope you don't mind....i put it in the HR Station.....i can take it off if thats a prob...just pm me

oh no, dude, thats very cool. These are more of the things I do at home apart from all the work and contractual stuff, so this I have no problems with sharing.

I'm glad you guys are digging the tune. Plus much thanks on the feedback, every little bit helps me improve the art form. :D

By the way, the mix on this is great. The performance seems un-inspired. I can't put my finger on it, but it just lacks the amount of testosterone that would make a song like this work. The drummer isn't hitting his snare, the guitars are subdued, the singer seems to be holding back. It sounds like a watered down version of what they were REALLY going for.

That's not to say the music, song and mix are bad. They're all good. Just not enough grit in their approach, it seems.

Really nice job on this. I enjoyed the hell out of it. I'd have had a bit less "fuzz" on the guitars (personally), but they have great definition.

Cool! Like it!

The begining sounds like Cake sings Red hot chilli peppers;)

Very well done. And a very cool song too!

Vox are low in the in the bridge between 1:40 and 2:00.

F.S.

I know that toadies song your talking about. It actually some what reminds me of 311. Pretty far from RATM though. Their sound was usually in your face with everything. This is more reserved sounding. Mix wise it sounds very well done.

Very 311'ish to my ears but funkier. You've got a alot going on in here, cool arrangement. I dig the drums and bass.
