naw I think this is less cheesy than the last one...lots in there so not sure I've got the separation right as there's a few layers, but I just wanted to try and finish this tonight

long intro/outro, standard fair

I had a dream last night that I was at this outdoor gathering late at night. It was pitch black except for the moon and a few scattered burning torches. There were zombies, pirates, slackers, stoners, rapscallions, ne'er do wells, and other various social misfits. They were playing this song. Weird, huh?

fuck me! I've plagiarised it!! :)

nowt wrong with a few zombies, pirates, slackers, stoners, rapscallions, and ne'er do wells having a good time :D

Separation sounds just fine...
lol, I like it.

It's something I can headbang to !!:D

Oh, and must spread.

AND, I think you've just inspired me to do another MIDI song... and have it turn out to be a nightmare like my last one lol :eek::spank:

cheers Nic..I just repped you into listening to this lol

Im not sure you can headbang to 134bpm, can you??

man Im old :o

:)

I like your tunes dude, and that's definitely one way to get me into the clinic :D

And I'm sure if people can dance like maniacs to 134bpm someone can find a way to head bang to it :p

cheers, yeah you should have another go...though most of this was done outboard, even the drums come from a JV expansion board....best couple of hundred bucks Ive ever spent :)

dunno though, if you can get hold of NI's FM8, thats one hell of a soft synth..I was going to buy an old DX7 but this actually sounds better than the synth its copying, cant say that happens to often with software

So many electronica subs here. You achieve what they're trying to accomplish with no sweat.

Must be troubling to know you were born for this. :D

Have you ever tried breaded and fried Camembert with a berry sauce? mmmmm.....yummy.

Fuck....this is not a bit inferior to the stuff those famous DJs who sell millions and play concerts to ravers in Ibiza and Mallorca with thousands of ravers are doing....huff, puff, what a sentence....

Really, Keith, you should be out there raking it in.....;)

What's this one called KC?

The intro and out isn't that long. Some dj remixes go on for ever. It's to get everyone into the groove.

I liked the small reprise at the end what did you do to that melody line? Almost sounds like a reverse reverb but not quite.

Again I'll give it a 10... easy to dance to (but not naked this time)!

Will you ever put lyrics to these?
I envision a large female voice just belting it out. ...Maybe it's a chance for you to use pitch correction and or gender bender and do it all yourself. Or maybe some samples of classic songs/or lines from movies etc.. ...it seems to be working for the Black eyed peas.---Just a thought.

Keep on making us rave.

Thump thump, here we go. Kick sounds great together with other layers but I've heard better bouncing by itself. Nice synths, some creative stuff in there.
That 2:31 one is badass. Pzieiewwww all over the spectrum.
The organ-like thing creeping in at 3:28, also remarkable, maybe turn that one up a little?
Those bells in the background starting at 2:10, what is that? It sounds so familiar and in place, I'm pretty sure I heard it in a psytrance song before but I can't remember what exactly.
Definitely danceable.

Now, about that voucher :D

Its called "scythe".....It was the first word that stuck out on the back of a book and sounds trancy ;)

for the bit at the end and during the breakdown I just take a few bars of one of the main synths and slice the audio...then add a different effect to each slice and bounce it down to the one file again...you can get great effects like this with vocals, which I do sometimes like in that disco track

no vocals...Ive got a collection of acapellas and want to try some progressive house next so Ill use some vocals then. Thanks for listening H and for keeping your clothes on!

I wasnt sure about the kick either...its three layers by the meat of the song but your right...it may be a little weak on its own Ill have a listen to the sample..its an AirBase kick rather than a 909 which could be the mistake

the bells were from Absynth and I bet a favourite pad for folks, its excellent...other than EQ them I never really touched them they are that good...the rest is a mixture of FM8 and my JVs expansion cards...except the drop that came from my EA

Thanks for the comments mate and pointing out the kick..Ill go back and have a tweak

Vouchers in the post to all!!

ta again singlespeak, I kept the same kick just added a touch verb to the sub and gave it a slight boost around 80Hz....sounds much better on its own now..also brought up the "organ", which is Rolands "liquid sky" pad...it is nice, and doesnt swamp the track like some pads do

you Belgians sure know your tech stuff ;)

Keith... Bro... You've found your calling.

This really is on the upper end of "good". It's got a great vibe, the sounds aren't grating.. It's danceable. Sounds to me like you're hitting all the right points of necessity to create some great house / trance hits.

Also - the hand-clap for the snare worked quite well in this song. When I heard it at first, I thought, "oh crap", but then forgot all about it after about 15 seconds.

Nice job!

(Also - check your PM)

Thanks man..I know you listen to this stuff and it was your comments that made me have a real go than my usual half hearted fare.....that and hearing phillbags excellent track

the handclap disappears into a double layered snare eventually so that's maybe why you dont mind it ;) I heard much of this stuff doesnt use snares or crashes, man I cant write without some snare and a badly sampled crash..those fools!

thanks for listening, I just PM'd you to see if you could...should have another by next week but more in the dubstep genre (or at least what Id call dubstep)

you've really motivated me :) <--------after my breakfast ecstasy

Okay... After listening to this 4 or 5 times, there is one nit, and it's purely subjective, but hey... if you posted this, you want my opinion.

That awesome bended tone at 2:32 - 2:35 is ridiculously awesome. I love it! It's so right-spot-on, that the tones which immediately follow it seem to fall flat on their faces. I'd grunge it up a bit more after that point for a bit, just because of that nice fat juicy grungy bended tone.

That's all. I'll probably listen to this all day.

I think it's pretty damn good dude. You have a knack for this. The mix is good. I like the programming.

Is it from scratch or did you use a bunch of sync'd arpeggio loops?
