Its better than any file sharing/hosting service youve ever used and best of all its free!!!
It comes in the standard free 2GB (alot of music space), a $10 a month 50GB (good god!) and for a nice round figure of $20 you get the mother load of 100GB of do what you want storage (i knowits redonkulous)

But ima be realistic with yall the free 1 is just as good and the best part of all is if you recommend someone you and that person get an extra 250mb of space so every can always add more space to there 2GB right off the break (caus free is always good)

Its a win win situation. Im not 1 of there company guys (i been here to long for spamming) but i am a working musician who is always on the lookout for better ways of improving my business and my workflow ;)

I know the pain it is to go online log into a site upload something then send an email then wait for some kind of comfirmation (which usually never comes from the other end just the service). Why not just share the files you need directly with the person and wen they get it just as easily take it down no logging on or getting on he internet at all (you still need an internet connection though). It works wonders for me and i know itll work wonders for yall to.

nope (unless of course you send them an email request to link up)
but if you wanna make the file downloadable then you would post it in your public folder for all to see :D

I think it just came up as a quicktime file not downloadable...which suits me fine, I just wondered if it was an option..

i was using yousendit for a loooonnnngggg time and thought that was the best and then my audio teacher told us all about dropbox and my eyes opened up like a kid on christmas!!!
 
I've been using a google intranet cloud, collaborators get a username and password and it is private...is your "drop box" public or private?

How do we take advantage of the refferal thing? You got me using it... so what do you need me to do?
 
basically if we all refer someone we can all get at least 3GB of space to work (which is more than eneough).:D

my dude you're absolutely right.. I've been on drop box for months and love it..
 
think of it as another folder on your computer you can use to store and share info with anybody you want. Go to the site and read about it its a very good way of working with artist and customers as far as sharing ideas and projects:D
 
I ALMOST passed this one up because I have an ftp/web server that I use for file hosting & sharing. But after further investigation, I figured that this is a really quick and easy way to keep some of my files / docs synch'd with other computers. Sure beats dragging around my USB thumbdrive, or external HD's everywhere I go. Of course this is all contingent upon how fast your internet is.

I'm in! :D
 
And see i didnt even have to elaborate caus you did your own independant research fam and saw exactly wat i saw. its a steal truth be told and yeah i still carry the external but thats out of force of habit :D

Yeah, I love Drop Box. It's great because you can record some tracks and save them into the Drop Box folder and it instantly uploads to the web site so anyone you work with that shares that folder with you will receive the files as soon as they turn on their computer and you don't even need to be online. I also like that you can access it from any computer just by logging into the web site and clicking the links to download your files. Definitely recommend Drop Box to anyone that likes to do projects but cant quite find the time to get together.
