what do you guys think. i have a AMD Athlon 2500 barton, and 1 gig of RAM. should i turn VIRTUAL MEMORY OFF? i heard it can get in the way sometimes when it kicks in.
thanks,
rob
With 1GB of memory, windows won't need to use the swap file much but it doesn't hurt to have it there if needed.
It only 'gets in the way' if you run low on disk space, the swap file gets fragmented and you get disk thrashing. However with lots of memory, lots of disk, that won't happen
