ideas? I think I know what Im going to do

I finally decided that Im going to build my "vocal" booth out of wood. Probably be about 5ft x 4ft wide with a raised floor to prevent sound from going down stairs. Im going to make a frame for the walls and screw ply wood onto both sides of it.

what do you guys think ? how thick should the ply wood and the frame wood be? any ideas?

I plan on covering the walls with a thin carpet and adding traps and all that from there.

is there anything I should put on the walls before I stick the carpet on?

just trying to prevent as much sound from comming in or out...

Check the latest Sound on Sound publication. This is from the UK,in it they actually show step by step their method to build sound deadning into a vocal booth. If you are unable to get it let me know. Basically they are building a wooden frame and lining filling it with dense insulation sheets, rockwool and heavy vinyl. They even give you a dvd movie in the Feb issue with a how to movie.
