I know there is no defiant answer to a lot of these questions. However, my friend and I are at the beginning stages of making our own studio. We don't even have the wall built yet lol. Needless to say, I have been doing research on some mics and I was wondering if I could get some opinions on them.
For an instrument mic I was thinking a E906 made by Sennheiser. I have read some good things about this mic. but I have heard some bad things too. I know I wont want to use a Shure 57. It not the sound that we want. We want a nice tight chunk sound. We are planning on playing out of a Krank Revolution. For the price of this thing its not bad ($109 @ Guitar Center). I have seen some instrument mics that have been a couple hundred dollars around but I don't know too much about them.
For drums I have head that the Audix Fusion 7 are nice. I know we don't have the kind of money to get some of the $1000 kits but the reviews that I have read some positive. The price is about $400
Thanks for the help guys.
