I've got a Rhodes Seventy-Three Stage piano and would like some advice on recording it. It has the single input & output jacks a volume control, and a bass boost knob.

Should I mic an amp or run this Rhodes through my ART TubeMP, run it direct?

Any ideas you all may have will be appreciated!

Try running it through a Mackie mic pre from the direct out. This is one of the few instances where a Mackie mic pre actaully sounds good on something. Be careful about the levels though. Mackie pre's tend to distort quite easily, and the Rhodes can really kick out some big low end. Pay attention to the low end also. A Rhodes track can lose all of it's great sound by being to muddy in the low end.

Good luck.

I haven't tried this yet, so I'm not sure on the results. I have a "stereo headphones only" out on my 73. I'm not one to adhere to lables so I'm going to try recording direct from that. With the vibrato on you hear it left-right-left-right as it sweeps.
