ideal setup??

I think im about ready to go for it on making some techno here but id like some last minute advice. Does this sound like an ideal setup to you guys?
-Cakewalk Sonar Home Studio 4XL
-M-Audio Keystation 49e USB MIDI Controller Keyboard
-M-Audio Trigger Finger-16 MIDI Drum Control Surface

PC Specs: 768 MB RAM, 2.60 GHz proc, 1 harddrive, some nice sounding
DELL(beleive it or not) surround sound speakers, and i beleive i have
a sound card with a MIDI input.

Total cost: $460.00-Mucicians Friend.com

Anything im missing? Anything you dont recomend? The big question- is all of this gear compatable with eachother?? Thanks, Zach

get rid of the Dell PC speakers and buy some nice studio monitors. probably something with a subwoofer or at least nice bass response (which will be good for your techno).

and check your soundcard to make sure it has MIDI. Most stock, Dell cards do not.

ok. so if i get monitors and have the right soundcard am i on the right track?
and my pcs' a gateway with dell speakers.
