I have CEP 2 and would like to hear what I am about to record thru my PC speakers.

The input is registered on the Monitor Record Level bar, but I cant get it out thru the speakers.

"Out" is set to my PC soundcard and "Rec" is set to M Audio Delta input.

What else do I have to do ??

Thanks

Mike

In Multitrack:

Options>Device Properties>Wave Out

Select the M Audio Channel you want to use (1/2, for instance).

Then make sure you're running cables from the M Audio breakout box 1/2 outs to your computer speakers. Also, make sure you've got the right thing selected in your M Audio control panel.

I've never used PC speakers, so I don't know if this will work, but it's something to try. Until the people who *really* know what they're talking about show up, I mean. lol

Hi

I have my computer speakers from my pc sound card chosen in that box - just curious why it is not that simple - are you saying I have to run a cable from the break out box of M audio into the Line In on my PC ?

Thanks

Mike

Nope, what I'm talking about is running cables from the outs of your Delta breakout box to the ins of your computer speakers.

The only reason I'm mentioning it is cuz I think it would work. See, I run outs from my Delta breakout box to my monitor speakers, and that works. I figure the same will work for what you're trying to do.

However, like I suggested before, somebody else will probably come up with a more elegant fix that that. I don't see why you can't get your Cool Edit stuff playing through the computer speakers while they're plugged into the computer. I don't know how to do that cuz I've never done it (I've never used computer speakers). And if somebody *does* come up with a way to do that, then I think I might hook some computer speakers up to my system, cuz I'd like to be able to listen to mixes through crappy computer speakers as well as all the other things I listen to mixes on. So I'll be following this thread as well.
