Alrighty, I might be getting a student grant to buy a computer for school.

I have decided to ditch the Windows machine I'm using now (with an ECHO Mia), due to space issues (long story, but I definitely need a laptop).

Anyway, I'm mighty tired of Windows, and I've been using my friend's G3 notebook, and I absolutely love OSX.

My plan of attack is this:

700Mhz G3 iBook, with the 14" screen, combo DVD/CDRW drive, 384MB of RAM, and a 40gig HD.

Digidesign M Box

LaCie 80gig Firewire external HD for only audio.

Before I drop the dough, I wanted to see what people think of this idea.

Sounds great too me.

Not gonna get too many positive PT comments from this board. Likewise, Mac is not a favorite around here. So don't take it personally.

I have the Mbox, I have the Digi 001...love them both.

Good luck.

Thanks. I know Mac isn't popular around here, but something about the software/hardware integration I really love about the Macs, that Windows will probably never have due to the wide hardware development.
