ibook and 002r

thinking about getting an ibook G4 for my wife. would i be able to do basic tracking on this puppy if i record to an external hard drive. here are the specs. i am new to mac land, so i dont know what these specs would translate to on pc..

Skip the G4 and get one of the new intel based MacBooks. Mac claims they are 4x faster

well, first of all, price is a big factor, second, protools is not compatible yet, and they have given no time frame for when they will. then, you have to wait til all the bugs are worked out. besides, i think the MacBooks are replacing the PowerBooks, right?
