A simple question for you guys.....My friend has two Rg Series Ibanez 7 strings. He purchased both of them used at different times. He is getting ready to sell and he isn't sure of the exact model. One of the two is obviously from a higher line than the other but that still doesn't help. Is there somewhere this info should be stamped on the guitar? Call me crazy but it just seems stupid not to have this info on there. I checked out Ibanez site but they don't seem to have any info for distinguishing the different models within this series. Thanks in advance

My serial number (model number) is on the back of my headstock on my ax 7 string. Mabie you could post some pictures?

The one guitar I believe is from a much lower line is black with black hardware. The serial says F99 42259 Japan on the back of the headstock. It only says RG series on the front. It has a fixed bridge that you string through the body.
It looks very similar to the RG 7321 but it appears that those were only made in Korea?

Ibanez doesn't keep track of serials very well, their main purpose is for shipping and stocking. They could probably tell you the model based off it, depending on how old it is. The M.I.J. are nice guitars, even the lower models, and my guess is that it's probably from the late 90's. Give Hoshino a call, they should be able to help.
