dude/girl ..... it wasn't the idea that you may have thought someone would steal it. It was your nasty responses to people who simply piped up to say no one would steal it.
"I didn't know your opinion was required or desired" and that kind of stuff to everyone that commented. YOU were the one that got rude first and for no reason.
A simple "Thanks for the opinion but I'll feel better if I copywrite it" or words to that effect would have sufficed instead of telling everyone you didn't appreciate they're daring to have an opinion.
But right now you just seem to be one that takes offense at the mere suggestion that anyone knows anything that you don't.
Just don't be so uptight and looking for reasons to take offense.

Hey Bob, stop being a prick, bitch.

The thing that just occurred to me and the only reason I can imagine for the hostility is that when I said I wanted to copyright the song, some of you thought that somehow I was implying that I wanted to protect it from the folks on these forums ??
Triquee,
The reason people here wouldn't want to nick your song is that we are, for the most part, home recorders with nothing to gain from recording other than the love of doing it or the satisfaction of seeing something that begins as an idea and ends as a tangible piece that we came up with. I don't think anyone of us is in competition or wanting to top the charts, in which case there might be a bit of stealing going on. Half the reason for doing it on your own is because of a certain stubbornness in not wanting all the shit and bananas that go with 'the music biz'. Stealing someone's song and claiming it as your own simply makes no sense in this milieu.
I had come to think of these forums as a supportive yet quirky and cool place to hang out.
It's hard sometimes to see it, but there exist a variety of senses of humour here. When RAMI made his comment to Lt Bob, those that have gotten to know him online could see the humourous intent. It was like a comment I made to Miroslav the other week when he referred to you as 'he' and I said "the he is a she". It was factual but wrapped up in my humour, kind of like RAMI's was. And Lt Bob was just being Bob, a man that's been around the music biz for longer than many members here have been alive. He can seem hard bitten but when you've seen what he has I guess being matter of fact is the better way to go. He actually adds important balance to much of the "this is the only way to go" ways that modern day recording practioners can sometimes fall into.
It took me a while to get used to some of the characters here but in a way, it's like having new in laws {the forum community} when all you wanted was a spouse {a bit of info}. And it takes a long time to get used to everybody with all their quirks and foibles.
You soon learn to box with the southpaws.........

You misquoted me.

What I said was:

I wasn't aware that your opinion was necessary or required.

Meaning that your opinion about a fictional concern for idea theft was unnecessary and not required because idea theft was NEVER A CONCERN.

You made a rash and defensive assumption at the mere mention of "copyright" and launched into a full on offensive attack based on that rash and incorrect assumption. It boggles my mind that you continue to believe it even after I have expressly said, in more ways than one that I was never concerned with idea theft. It boggles my mind even further that you would choose to continue to assert it for the express purpose of ideologically brow-beating me. Over some shit you just plain made up.

You are more than welcome to your opinion. I will defend to the teeth your right to state your opinion. What I will not defend is your desire to label me incorrectly and then take me to task for rejecting your inaccurate label.

this is bringing back memories. nice almost-verbatim performance by rami, greg l, lt., and crew. double-negative points to rami for adding some near-4chan-esque misogyny to the mix. can we get some modding beyond 'chill out guys'?

triquee, these dudes love the dog pile.

So, you're saying there was no sarcasm or hostility in that remark? Wow. That's pretty lame.

Oh, I forgot. I'm on your ignore list, so you can't see this anyway, right?

:D

You know, I've gotta say that not for one second did I take offense at Triquee stating her reasons for taking her song down... but maybe I'm not as "thin skinned" as y'all.

Hey I didn't do anything.

No need for modding. I've said my piece and I'm at peace with it.

These guys are just going to have to find some other punching bag.

I appreciate your willingness to offer a little perspective and I sincerely respect the courage and/or confidence you've shown in calling out this schoolyard crap.

Dude, give it up. You're more thin-skinned than everyone here put together.Read what you want to read out of this thread. If you can't see what really happened, you're as blind as you want to be. And get over your "memories". Just because you ended up on the bottom of the dog-pile you started, don't blame me.

Nobody else took offense to the fact that she took down her song, either, or the reasons she did it.. It's the old "be as insulting as I want, and then play victim when I'm called out on it".

lol .... you know nothing man but go ahead with your whining.

Allrighty triquee and talk midway on ignore ....... ahhhhhh .... silence is golden. I have no interest in talking to people who show zero ability to recognize any opinions differing from theirs aren't neccessarily attacks.
Little whiney babies that you've got to talk to in a certain way or they get hurt feelings.

:laughings: music biz is no place for you if you're this thin skinned.

Considering there's isn't even any music to listen to in this thread, I can't see any reason to keep it open.

I'm just posting in between doing tracks. If the thread was gone, I wouldn't even notice.

these guys that get defensive at absolutely any comment no matter how carefully you word it are funny or sad depending on your mood at the moment.
Funny right now ..... but sad when I consider the difficulty they must have in facing an uncaring world.

But it is funny when someone makes a pretty neutral observation and they take offense because the wording wasn't 'just so'.
I'm just bored with that level of amateurism these days.

This thread should have been closed long ago. We lost a quality member due to the inability of testosterone, and estrogen to mix in a text format. I'm not sure I would side with the tester folks here actually. Childish IMO.
