yeah, and for free, too:eek: !!

Now, please take me seriously cuz I am serious about this. I am a graphic design student, and am trying to put together a profolio for future job application, and also for applying for upper classes at my school.

Is anyone insterested?

I will provide more information if someone is actually interested.

But, please note*
Since I am doing this for my profolio, it's gotta be GOOD, meaning, your studio must look somewhat decent(otherwise, I would have been doing for my lil home studio), and you will have to be the camera-man, and have the ability to send photos via mail or email.

Email me at: alan@indiana.edu if you prefer

Hey man- thats a great idea and very kind of you- Im sure someone around here will find that very helpfull- some people around here have websites that could use some help too (not that im tryin to offend anyone- i built mine-its ok a guess) Most of the people here seem like they would rather focus on recording than makin a web site anyway- maybe try doin for local bands too- just a thought- good luck

At first I thought your post was spam, but it looks like a cool offer where everyone benefits. One thought -- you might want to put a sample site up of your talents for folks to get an idea.

I have worked with a lot of web sites over the years -- one thing that drives me CRAZY is sites which are designed for high bandwidth connections only. While the switch to broadband is continuing and growing, the majority of folks are still connecting at 56K or less, and your sites need to be friendly to them. There's a reason that Google is so popular -- it loads quick and runs quick!

Yeah Micheal- Im re-writing for about the 10th time over the last 2 years- I actually just did a little more tonight- the band is a little slow so- so am i- im workin on it

here: http://php.indiana.edu/~alan/

it's my school's server, so, might be a little slow depending on the traffic.

Those websites are not audio recording related. They were presented for different audience. So, they might look tasteless to you, but, I promise I will build a kick ass recording studio site for whoever is interested:)

working on a sample on how I will go about a recording site now.

Hey Alan I would really appreciate your help on this. I am wiring my studio right now and should be done with it in about 3 weeks. I don't know if you need somethimg sooner or not. The studio will consist of control room, live room iso booyh and drum room. It will also feature a lounge and bath. The finish will be vaulted cielings with open beams. colors to be cobalt with some purple mixed in. Foam will also be auralex wild purple. I also have other projects no musical that I could use a site for. clothing. please let me know. Thanks

Man ... I gotta get one of those profolios if I'm gonna get big ...

Sorry, guys. I thought this thread was burried, forgot to check back.

we are neighbors! Glad to see someone on this board live close to me:) I think you do have very clean pictures, and certainly a NICE looking studio, too! First thing I would do, however, is to compress your image files, especially the floor plan. Having each picture being more than 1MB big is just gonna scary people on dial-up away.
The bad news is, I am already working on 3 studios' sites at the moment. If yuo don't mind waiting, I can probably help you to redesign what you already have later. On the other hand, people I am working with haven't been light-speed fast about emailing or sending pictures. So, send me an email, we might be able to get started with yours.

Are you an art student also? I feel kinda embarrassed showing off my half-@ss skills online, but it does help me to gain more experiences.

Ken,

I should be done with other sites by the time you finish your studio. So, it shouldn' be a problem. About online clothing store...that's gonna be a tough one. My buddies and I tried it once and ran into many problems such shopping cart, order form, tracking shipments and etc. I am very very weak with server-side programing. So, you will probably have to buy an all-in-one package or hire some professionals. But, if you just need me to design the "look", I should be able to help.

dude that is fine. you already have too much to do... lol i really want to concentrate on getting some good pictures. i bought my fiance a nice digital camera for christmas, so i plan on using that. haha! (she still thinks i bought it for her) i have got a few cabinet/locker type things and some new sofas ordered for my live room. so i want to wait for those. anyway, if you dont have time, that is fine....

I buy my girlfriend presents for me too. Works out though-
-Al- if your gonna do that we all want see to the progress as it goes- (well i do anyway)

Al your e-mail hasnt been working! Over Quota, need to request more space.

Lynn:

Try using a tripod if you want to shoot in a dark room. You will get some really nice results from that.

Jeff:
you mean the progress of the website building? Sure, I can put a link to my work space. Comments are always good for improvement, too:)

Snapper:

I have just noticed about my account. I erased all the big files sitting my email account. it should be fine now. If that still doesn't work, try this meanwhile:
donkeytra@hotmail.com<<doesn't take big files tho.
Sorry about this

Yeah, i think pictures say alot more than text. Here is a studio with nice design alone with some nice shots to capture that. Have a look, it might help you to get some ideas of getting interesting pictures. You might wanna consider close-ups, unusual perspective, and framing with objects.

A1A2 Thanks for the response back. I am taking lots of pictures during construction and should have some great finish pics. I have a t-1 @ the house so I can rip the pics pretty quick. Again thanks in advance. Talk to you soon.

Ken Messinger.
