i want to free a pci slot

I would like to know if anyone can tell me how to get my pc to use my M-Audio Delta 44 card for all of its sound output, like when i'm using winamp to play a cd, rather than having an extra sound card to hear all of the sounds coming from my non-music production software. If i didn't make this clear enough please say so and i'll try to clarify.
 
You have to go into the Windows Control Panel. Find the item labeled Sounds and Multimedia and then go to the Tab for Audio.

Under the section for Sound Playback, click the down arrow next to preferred device and choose your Delta Card.

Then click OK.
