Well, next on the list of things to get is monitors. I finally got my recording stuff down. Now I need some monitors so I can get the most out of all my stuff. So I looked over the archive of posts and thought the Event 20/20's look pretty good. Then I went looking for a good amp.... and well..... couldn't find a post on what amp to buy.

So... what amp should I buy? (PS: the reason I'm no getting the powerd Events is because of $$$$$ so I don't have more than 100-200 for an amp) but throw suggetions at me even if they don't fit the price range

A man after my ears... :D Yup, Hafler. Sorry, it is out of your price range, but your price range is unrealistic for good reference quality amplification, so we can only recommend something worthy. You are on your own with stuff in the price range you specified... :(

ive got the 20/20s and a would have to agree with everyone else here and say go with a hafler amp. ive got one and couldnt be happier. before i got it i was using a sony amp and it worked all right. maybe you could get the monitors and use a cheaper amp while you save for something better.

Check your local pawn shop.

Be sure to check out your local pawn shop - you'll see lots of crap, but once in a while something worth having will show up. Offer them half of what they're asking and go from there.

Well something that almost fits your budget, check out some stuff from soundtech. Well built amps, quiet and clean. 100W at 4ohm.
Probably around $400

If you're gonna spend upward of $300 on an amp ... you may as well just go with the 20/20p's ... just my 2¢ ...
