I think my 4047 survived...

..a five foot drop from a boom stand. :( It may have been cushioned a bit by some cables on the floor but it sounded like it took fairly solid hit.
So far, it still sounded good (and normal) in front of a kit last night. But I'm wondering even if it seems ok, should I have it checked out any way?

Stupid. Not paying more attention to some rubber bands..

Iown one.
And the second day i had it, i had it on a boom out in the back yard ona concrete patio doing some outdoor acoustic guitar ambience tests.

I start to head inside and i hear WHACK!
The stand fell over and it landed front grille down and even dented the grill it hit so hard.

I was using a snake to record out there and had allready done some recording that day with the same positioning.
So i put it back in position and kept on recording.
No difference whatsoever.
Thats one tough mic my friend.

I think some mics get sold for that very same reason... that's why I always checkout second hand mics really good.
 
Thanks for the encouraging war story. :)
ADK has a clamp-style that came on their ST. I think I'll see if they'll sell me one for this mic. Enough with the rubber bands already.
