I recently posted a song called Only A Word and received quite a bit of good advice. I tried to use some of those ideas and here is where I'm at now. I haven't given it the all important car test yet, but I will on my way to work in an hour. Anyway, feel free to ignore this if you're sick of it.

the vocals sound like something that would be on the radio these days.......there are a couple pitchy spots though........the electric sounds like it could use a wider stereo spread..........are there double tracked electrics or just one? if you've got two in there i might pan them harder.........

Yeah, I have a VERY hard time staying on pitch. This is actually a composite of like 12 vocal takes. And it's STILL off.:D
The gits are double tracked. In the past I've been guilty of "over-spreading" my gits in the stereo field, and I'm still trying to find the happy medium.
Thanks for the input, it helps.

yes, it's definitively closer! :)
you needed 12 takes - that tells me that you don't spend time with singing but with playing guitar - right? maybe you should practice more...

cool song - I said it the first time I think.. like it!

GJ: you're right, I spend a lot more time playing guitar than singing. I consider myself a guitar player before anything else. I only recently started trying to "sing".
I guess I exagerated the whole 12 takes thing, because I kind of did the whole thing one verse at a time, so I'd sing the verse a couple times, then move on etc. So I didn't sing through the whole thing 12 times. At least not all at once:D
I need practice for sure, but I'm afraid to even sing unless there's nobody else at home, and that's pretty rare.
Thanks for the help, man

Definitely closer, this sounds really good. I think you have a really good symbiosis between your bass and guitars. It's got that full major label release sound to it. Very quality work. I enjoyed the vox again your voice seems very appropriate for this style of music.

I really like this mix. Has the clarity I'm looking for myself in the instrument separation. everything in its own eq space and no mud. The idea of widening the field on the guitars I like, 'cause it is a bit crowded in the middle behind the vocals, but still it`s clean.
