Hey guys!

so here's my latest piece of work, a song called I Said You Said by a band from my uni called Swerve. 4-piece band, drums, vocals, guitar and bass. Drums and bass went down live, bass DI'd. One of the guitar tracks was actually meant to be just a ghost track, so it was DI'd, but ended up sounds groovey so we used it !

Tracked and mixed in Tools..what more can I say?

Done my best to master this track, to try and get it playing evenly on different systems as well as boosting the overall level of it..

enjoy!!

Okay, critiquing as I listen. So far sounds like you have nice separation on the instruments. It seems a touch muddy in the lowend, but that may be me. The vocals really cut through and sound pretty bitchin with the vocalist.

Kinda reminds me of a lower key Pretty Girls Make Graves... i think the mix sounds great for the sound and the guitars are dead on.

thanks for the input guys :)

anyone else got any comments?

Sounds good in h'phones.
It may be my ear - am I partially deaf that'd explain heaps - I heard the vox panned slightly L & the main gtr to the right.

no it's not your ears. the lead vox is slightly panned to the left, and there is a gtr pan'ed hard right and another pan'ed hard left. i guess on 'phones it can sound a bit weird..i think it sounds groovey!

does anyone find the mix a bit bright? the genelecs i mixed this on are VERY bright. tried to compensate - it sounds alright on a few systems i've listen to it on.

any thoughts? criticism? i want to know what you like, but also particularly what you don't like!
