Stand Up Comity
Please check out my reworked version of Eutychus. I'm still learnin' this recordin' and guitar playin' thing. Any advice would be appreciated!

The old version is available, too. Which do you like better?

The link is now fixed. Sorry.

Now remember, this is my opinoin. You have kindof a funky thing going and I dont think the drup beat matches. I think the drum are too "straight forord" I would like to hear a bit more "funky" for the drums instead of so "downbeatish". But then again it kindof simplifies the song......AGHHHH I dont know. I hate when I cant make up my mind. Well just my two cents...

Thanks, stoctony.

Thanks for your input. I wish I had a drummer. I did this with a Yamaha RY9. Actually, the RY9 is covering the bass, too. Almost as cheesy as Ashlee Simpson on SNL!

I like this version a lot better, but I'm pretty lame, and I have a whole bunch of purple ponies dancing in here right now. The biggest problem with the other recording was the cheap ass distortion. WAAAY too gained to sound heavy. It's like when I listen to old ZZ Top records...like Fandango (sp?)...the beauty is in the tone, and if you listen closely, there's NOT a ton of distortion on that album, but it's very meaty. I personally would dig hearing a hybrid version that would allow you to still keep some of the edge AND the tone. Did you resing it? I'm not comparing them side by side, but the vocal seems to fit better now.

I think you could bump the bass up a notch. Yes, we all do better with real drummers, lol. Nice job man.

Thanks, Chris.

It looks like I need to spend a few hours with the ol' RP50 lookin' for some inbetween tones.

I did redo the vox for the second one. It was funny; I hit record, waited for the verse to come around, took a deep breath, tried to sing and coughed. But it left me with a bit of growl, which I liked.

Several have suggested a hybrid, and I am thinking about it.

Thanks for listening!
