Tubes are not like walls...... some people are though...... 
For me it's not whether the POD is a useless piece of crap, it's whether it's adequate for my needs in a amplification system for my instrument which on it's own makes very little sound. I want to fill a room of various sizes with dynamic, moving sound that will rise above other instruments when needed. For me recording is secondary to producing a great live sound. I have tried the modelers and I know what they are all about. If I would own one again, it would probably be for the reasons that others mention. To be able to have something like a big sound at low or no volume. (IE headphones) But that's sort of like owning a car and never leaving your driveway.

Come on guys, don't make it so confusing. It's really simple. Don't make it complicated...I say that to my wife all the time now here I'am saying it again.
The technology is just gonna get better. Think I'll skip the next trend in modling w/ in the next 2 years then go for the gusto.

I was listening to a beatles song the other day in my car, even with my crappy speakers and head unit, pauls voice sounded like he was singing in my ear, it was just right there, huge sounding. There is alot of music that achieves this sound. I'm still striving to get that kind of depth in my recordings, I'm afraid though that I have hit the limits of what I can do in a crappy sounding garage home studio (though I do record a ride cymbal pretty well). I'm sure you have heard music so well recorded that it sounds like the musicians are there playing in your room? Thats "3D".

FWIW - I listened to a few seconds of a couple of your tunes and very much liked it. Wish I had access to a female voice like that. Your recordings are crisp and airy - live sounding even.
Anyway, didn't mean to bring the topic off track.

I listened to your cut "rana"......... very nice work... the bear likes it! It's interesting, good dynamics, great balance in all aspects of playing and mixing, and keeps the listener's attention with great composition.
Only 1 minor quibble... at the beginning after the drums come in, unless you intentionally had an effect on the drums, there is some slight flanging on the cymbals, indicating a phase issue on your mic placement. It doesn't appear throughout the rest of the song, so I wasn't sure if the effect was intentional or not.
But overall - very excellent!

Bruce, I'm not sure what your hearing, but it was probably intentional (maybe you could point me to a precise time). I did alot of wierd things to the drums on this one. I'll go into greater detail if you wish.
