Hey I have a Terratec DMX6 fire soundcard and i can record 2 stereo or 4 mono tracks simultaneously. Ideally i would liek to be able to record 8 tracks simultaneously, or more and i was wondering is there a way to do this without buying a whole new internal soundcard. Can i get a simple interface that will plug into my USB or firewire that can increase my number of channels and run at the same time as my terratec? I use Cubase SX2 and have a powerful pc. I Don't have a lot of money maybe 100 to 200 dollars. Can anyone help?

Does the card have a S/PDIF input or can Cubase accept simultaneous inputs from your existing soundcard plus another external interface?

it has sp dif. it can accept multiple inputs from the soundcard i have but i dont know if it can accept from another card. Its cubase SX2. my knowledge here is very limited thats y id liek to know. anyone?

I don't use Cubase so can't help you there. As far as your S/PDIF connection, if you have both input and output ports, you could hook up a 2-channel unit with pres and converters to the S/PDIF input on the soundcard to get two more channels.
