where should i put more rockwool bass traps?

i already have the back wall behind the mix position totally covered. i cant do corners cuz i have doors in the corners. will behind my monitors help? the monitors are only about 9 inches away from the wall (thats pretty much all i can do)

where the mixer is, is about 7 feet wide , then my room tapers out to about 18 feet (yes it has diagnal walls) and the room is only about 12-14 feet deep (so i have some major bass cancellation going on)

is it possible, and worth it to double up on my bass traps? putting a trap ontop of a trap?

You can treat where the wall and the ceiling meet, bass congregates in corners! Bass traps 4" thick with a gap behind them is ideal!

Do you have doors in every corner?

Like Gorty says where the wall and ceiling meet are one long corner. You can add some trapping there. You could also double up the existing traps' insulation and make sure you have as much air space as possible behind the traps. Just a few inches will greatly increase their effectiveness.

yeah i do have doors in all corners...sucks.

im gonna try and trap the wall ceiling corner.

now i could double up the insulation, and keep the 2" airgap, or keep the same traps up (not double up) and increase the airspace by 3 inches or so? which would be more effective?

How thick are your Bass traps? If they are already 4" thick then increasing the air gap would be beneficial!

yeah, they are 4" thick i believe, if not that 3, i think they are supposed to be 4 but some are more compressed then others, ill try increasing the airgap.

how far should i pull the traps off the wall?

Even with doors in the corners, you can still potentially build 'cubes' for the 4 tri-corners in addition to straddling the wall/ceiling corners with 4". With an 8' ceiling, you should easily be able to put up a 1'x'1'x' solid cube of 8lb in the 4 tri-corners that will help quite a bit. If you can swing it, make them 2'x2'x1' high to stay up over the doors but still provide more surface area and thickness.
