Ive Been Looking For Some For A While , Just For A Project Studio Setup, Dealing With Rap-Dance And Maybe Acoustic Recordings

I Love Yamaha So I Though Of Getting The MSP5, But Im All I Hear About Them Is .... "Where's The Bass..."

I Need A Solution People ... Any Help ..?

I like my alesis m1 actives... 500 or so. You want bass, get a subwoofer.

Are you looking for actives (no amp) or passives( need amp)?

Basically bottom (bass/beatz) and vocs monitoring are of the utmost importance in rec'ding and mixing rap.

The best advice any-1 can provide here is to visit your local music store with a copy of your tape or c/d and audition the var monitors the store carries.
Some to look @; Tannoy Reveals, Mackie 624's, Events 20BAS, JBL LSR Series or even Hafler TRM6's!

Good Luck and use those ears of yours!!

I know you said you want active monitors but...

...The passive Hafler M5s & the Hafler TA1600 amp combo sound pretty damn nice for under $600.00.

I haven't heard the Yorkvilles. but I may soon be an owner of the Haflers...

Oh, I choose to forgo the monitor plus subwoofer route, and opted to buy some decent but not hella expensive "club-style" speakers to check out the low end theory.

Ive Never Heard Of Yorkville Moniters....Are Good For Recording And Mixing...?

Yeah, what Kev said!

I got my Yorkies a couple of months ago.
They work for me.

Are Good For Recording And Mixing...?

Yes they are.

Yorkville have been making gear since 1963.......

Their YSM series monitors are very good....a nice FLAT response, not coloured or exaggerated.....great for mixing....

Check 'em out....

Damn GOOD

Yeah the Yorkvilles are hella tight.

I got them joints and man they made a hellafied difference in our mixdowns.

I've been told by several sources that those speakers use alot of the same components as the high end Mackies, they just don't spend millions on promotions so they are cheaper.

But me and my guitarist are very happy with them jokers, and I do hip hop as well, dawg.

behringer truths 400 as flat as the mackies 3 times as cheap 50 hz for bass

The behries are nowhere near the mackies, in fact they aren't even a copy of them. They are a copy of genelecs, Truth B2031( Genelec 1031a) it's kinda obvious. They sound similar, (not the same) to the genies. Annnnnnnnnnnnd...they even look like the genelecs. They're ported, the mackies are not. They're waaaay different.

I listened to the Behringer's next to the Yorkvilles for a couple of hours and the Yorkies are WAY better - no contest!!!!

The Behringer ruths have an exaggerated bottom end ( a bit like my wife :-) & harsh/brassy highs when the VOL is turned up....plus, when ya get up close 'n' personal, they look just like what they really are - a cheapo copy :-(

Sorry home-boy, but the Beh's chopped-up mid freqs, harsh bass
@75hz and below and inadequate overall near-field response cannot compare in anyway shape or form to the Mackies Act Series. The Truths are basically a budget-minded, 3rd ref spkr for monitoring translation.
I too gave it consideration, but after A/B/C/D'ing them with others,
I was not impressed.
