I need info/help

I have a old Fostex X 26 4 track cassette recorder.
Still is a clean recording machine. I recently began using it again. Seems that the left side tracks 1 and 3 are not receiving input as well as the right. I have to really push the input gain to get something on my meter. I'd appreciate any ideas. Thanks
 
About all you can do is clean and lube the pots (DeOxit, or Cramolin) and clean the tape path and heads (for the heads, 90% iospropyl alcohol - NOT rubbing alcohol.... for the pinch roller - pinch roller cleaner - NOT alcohol - it will dry out the rubber)

If this doesn't work then you really can't do much but have it serviced.......
