I moved this old computer down into my "studio" that I'm gonna use for recording. Cakewalk installed fine, it works great, only one problem. The sound card is old and it doesn't support simultaneous recording and playing. So when I record, I don't here the other tracks playing, like I do on this good computer. I know I could get a new soundcard but It seems like a waste for that old thing. I devised a little way to stay on time but its kinda annoying. I have a little electronic drum set I use to record beats with. I connect it to my line in and then start the the beat. I then click the record button in time with the beat so the recording starts exactly at the beginning of the measure. Then, when I record with my guitar, I have the guitar hooked to the line in and the drum machine playing next to me. I click the record button again in time with the beat and record. It works but sometimes I'm a little off and stuff. Is there any other ways to get around this?
