I really need you guys to help me out. My band is in a competition to open a really big show here in Calgary. The winner is chosen by online voting, so it would be great if you guys could just click on the link below, choose Sittin' Idol, then click on VOTE!

Thanks a lot!

I downloaded the tune, (a great one might I add) but I couldnt vote because you had to register and sign up.. I tried to sign up but they didnt have my 'province' and I didnt know the zip for any of the choices.. sorry man, I tried. :(

The tune I downloaded is great though, nice and heavy.. I left a comment there at least..

sorry dude,

I am not about to sign up to vote.

I must say though, DUDE, THAT SONG FREAKING ROCKS. and the performance and energy are massive too. not a wildcard song, but my pick of the week

funk on!

Damn guys, I'm sorry. I didn't know that you had to sign in to vote. I guess I was automatically signed in and assumed that you just had to click. Thanks anyways!@

Looks like your band has got a pretty big lead at the moment.17 days of voting left!

Killer sound on that tune. The guitars are truly evil sounding.

Okay, this is not my kind of music. Not because it's heavy but because it's sooooo derivative of Metallica, right down to the James Hetfield vocals and the Lars drum fills. These days too many bands are copping those sounds. You guys have the chops and the energy and the talent to write and record, that is clear, but I would challenge you to find more of a uniqueness (is that a word?) in your music. I don't know how to do that, but maybe you can find a way.

Good luck!

Let me add...

The song itself is cool as hell, it's just the affectations in the lead vocal and the double bass drum fills that cry out 'Metallica'! You can tell me to F off, but that whole Hetfield copying thing that's prevelant today just bugs the crap out of me.

hey Sittin Idol,

that tune kicks so much ass that if you give me the postal zip for Ontario, or any one of those other places, I will sign up just so I can vote..

I know that one of the postal codes in Calgary is T2C3S1 .

Gotta admit, I was initially turned off by the title of your post but I opened it anyway. Glad I did. This song is great. I never listened to much metallica but it does have a resemblance from what I can remember of hearing their stuff.

That drummer is very good. I usually don't like double bass drum action but it sounded really good here. I bet you guys put on a great show. Best of luck. I hope you win the competition.

By the way, B.Sabbath, that's in Alberta!:)

Thanks a lot for the comments guys!

jjtcorsair: I agree that this tune sounds a lot like metallica. The reason that we use this one is that it probably has the strongest hook and most repetition of any of our songs. Check out the rest of our tunes at http://www.sittinidol.com and let me know what you think

Thanks

Damn, punk fans are rabid!! It seems that metal fans aren't so quick to help out.

Tell all your friends to vote...we need the support!

Cheers

There ya go Rick, bunch of votes for ya.

You gotta start posting show dates and such on NoWhereMedia.

BTW, tell Adam that calgaryalternative is so full of java errors I can't visit the site! If he wants to avoid that, get in touch with me.

I just gotta say...another great rocker from you guys... great intro too.

I've listened to the song enough to not feel bad that I can't vote. The arrangment is congruent and intelligent (more so than my spelling and the bulk of the genre's bands). I truely hope you get the exposer you deserve.

Do you have a link that would facilitate the purchase of a CD? I think I'm sold!! Not an easy task.

Nice incorporation of tried and true with fresh and new!!

Peace,

Theron.

Thanks Sluice!!! We've moved into the lead by a short margin, and we still need all the help we can get.

Rock on!!!
Rick
