i need help! how to plug in key board to a pc to make beats

hi guys well my name is jae and i have a question, i dont know how to transfer keyboard melodies to my computer like i want to make a beat but i cant transfer the sounds, do i buy a midi controller or a mixer to transfer it....thank you....peace

On order for anyone to give a useful answer to your question you need to tell us specifically what equipment you now have, the type of computer you are using and its speed, what sound card you have, what software you have, what you're trying to do (do you want to make a CD, jam, make MP3s?)etc.

There are several methods you could utilize depending on what you are trying to accomplish.
