I want to record from my bass onto my harddrive. Do I just use a microphone or what???? Do I need any special cables or do I just record? Please help!

mic it up or go direct. Either way is fine, depending on your gear. especially your soundcard.

dear dragonworks.. this thread may seem to die unresolved, but know in your heart that this Newbie and I settled many of his questions via MSIM.
Its true, other newbies with the same question... what is Direct? ... they may die whilst it goes unanswered... but not this one.
