I just got the (delta series) 24/96 audiophile sound card but i still can record.what is going anything will help.

If it's anything like the Delta series, it has a mixer icon in the Windows Control Panel. It's a little less than obvious how to configure it, but the documentation is pretty good. Read the manual or check out the website:
