I have been recording audio in Cakewalk for a while now with no problems. The program file is running on a 9gb C drive and the files are stored on a 30gb D drive. I have just discovered that all the actual wave data is still being stored on my 9gb C hard drive and it is just about full. My song files are being stored on my 30gb D drive and I assumed the wave data was included but its not. Do I have to have the program file installed on drive D for the wave files to be saved on drive D? How can I get the wave files sent to my 30gb D drive? I have tried going under options/global and inserting "D" next to the wave data folder but when I record it is still sent to the C drive. I'm stuck so thanks in advance for any advice. James

Go to Options -> Audio - Advanced. Change the directory for the Data Directory and for Picture Directory to point to folders on your D: drive. Make sure that they point to two seperate folders - don't put the data and picture files in the same folder.

Your program files do not need to be on the same drive.

The only time your wave data is stored with your project file is when you save as a .bun file. .wrk files do not contain any audio data (as you have apparently found out).

Good thing we had the same answer too :)

Thanks for the advice. It worked great and saved me a lot of time scratching my head. This forum rules!!
